Resilience describes how people can effectively respond and adapt to difficult or challenging experiences. It's facing issues head-on and striving towards your goals, even in adversity.
Resilience can stem from a range of factors. Our upbringing, how we're taught to deal with challenges in our youth, and our experiences throughout life influence how resilient we are. However, resilience can also be learned and developed with the right approach.

My name is Louise Shepherd, I have been in the recruiting industry for nearly 20 years and I am a personal member and corporate member of REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation).
17 years ago I launched First 2 Recruit Ltd and specifically focus in Accountancy Practice and Insolvency & Restructuring across the UK. An owner managed consultancy we offer the full recruitment cycle for permanent positions for our wide network of clients, this includes recorded video interviewing of potential candidates as part of our gold package.
Not many recruiters can say they have clients who have worked with them for long periods of time, but I can, I have clients who I still work with from my early days in recruitment. There are many reasons they come back time after time (Read some of my testimonials), but the pivotal reason they come back is quite simply because they trust me – and they trust the advice I give them.
For me this level of communication and trust is vital; I have it with all of my clients and the results highlight the positive value of having a fantastic working relationship that is built on mutual trust and respect.
When I started with a new client, one of the first tasks was to get in a Financial Controller and Louise was recommended to me.
As this was a new role and we had quite specific requirements, I thought the process would take a while, but Louise came up with some good candidates within a week, one of which has now started :)
Louise did a lot of work with me and my client up front, so she really understood the requirements before going to the market, which made a refreshing change to the scattergun approach I have often experienced.
Louise exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely use her again for any finance recruitment.
